For those who couldn't get subs to play with the original files, put these in the same directory.  They should then either automatically or manually add subs, depending on your software and settings.

Thanks for the effort. However I have no clue how to add these file to the videos. Hopefully someone who can produce normal universal play subs will release these soon.

try dropping them into the video.

Nice joke. If you do not have a real solution please refrain from useless banter.

works for MPC, until you close it or change video.

Not for my MPC latest version with updated codec pac.

Please give us some real subs and not this version that only plays on software no one uses.

First of all, don't be fooled by the fact that the opening credits and music are not subbed.  To see if you have subs, go a few minutes into the program and run some dialogue in case your computer is slow to start rendering them.  There are settings that get MPC-HC to look for external subs automatically and prefer them to internal ones, but failing all else, start the mkv, right-click on the screen and choose File, Load Subtitles, then locate the subs.  It's just about fool-proof.  (Temping fate by saying that, I know.)

There are other versions of this release around.  This one seems nicely encoded with a reasonable file size.  The others I've seen run 1.5GB or more per episode.

There is one line missing just after Goer disconnects transmission with his commander. (Line 13). His aid says it and Goer responds "Irrelevant" (Line 14). This is the line and time codes

Commander, about that ship we lost

Fantastic work, sir. They work perfectly.

Here is the way to make these files work with the videos.
The names of both the video file and the srt file must match exactly then when you open the video it accesses the srt.

[Just to note, this is an unusual case in which there are internal subtitles as well, but it's been difficult to get MPC to display them.  Unless the selection has previously been set in Options for external subtitles to have preference over internal ones, it may ignore the srts unless they are manually loaded via menu during playback with Files, Load Subtitles.  Otherwise, what you say is usually true.]

Do you have all the SRT files for all other episodes? Do you know where I could find them?  I'm really just looking for the ANSI hard code scripts.

If goldfish were still alive, he might point you at this site, which you might already know about:

Given that the rest of the comments on this AT page are more than a year old, I don't know if you'll find much else.

Thank you Sir.  Time to search now.

I'm still alive :D

The Sea God was in a weak condition, He can't control the temperature of the water at his best like usual. In addition of winter, the weather here was kinda cold. In order to survived, I had to hibernate until His power replenished.

Yes, I can hibernate:

Sometimes, I feel like I can almost sense goldfish's presence again, like the echo of a distant message...

I think he's saying, "I overate at Christmas but don't flush!  I'll be belly down again in no time."

(-It was just my way to credit you for the subtitles database ref you mentioned to another user recently.)

National Geographic says fish can be "torpid"?  I had forgotten that word.  Next opportunity I'll try calling someone a "torpid idiot" and see what happens.
