.mkv is just a container like .mp4 is. .mp4 doesn't have to be hard-subbed.

And wouldn't be great if more ppl knew how to encode a soft sub to a .MP4 container? It would be just as popular maybe even more than .MKV is But until the ppl encoding x265/HEVC use common sense to realise x264 @60fps does the same thing without sacrificing the ability to enjoy watching the media anywhere and anyway. Nothing is going to improve. Infact it'll continue to decline.
Now that Funi ad CR have openly admitted what I've known all along and that is producing Anime in Japan. Will fans take a stand against them?
They have gone off the deepend with censorship on anything ecchi. Even ATX is censored now on some shows. Their putting clouds to keep underwear from showing.
