You could combine the files you can recover from the parts with the torrent to speed things up.
I'm not sure why you need a mini re-encode, but if your issue isn't download bandwidth/quota, I'd just download the original and re-encode yourself in this case.

i believe the files composed in the torrent and in extracted archive aren't sharing the same fragments... besides torrent tend to build up each files equally at the same time so most files won't be fully completed until the last percent. (unless you change around the priorities) or could i be mistaken? My disk space usage is almost exceeding its limit, so i don't really want to fill it up with the originals. Plus when you encode it fills up even more from generating encodes + original file.

Fragments? Fragments are just pieces of the file.
Torrents break the file down into pieces which get fetched and assembled into files. Of course, if you already have a full file, then the torrent application doesn't need to fetch pieces for that file.
Most clients allow you to skip files, so just skip the files you already have.

(It's also possible to put in incomplete files and let the torrent client fix things up, but it's not necessary here)

Hey, just wondered. Is ordered chapters enabled in this release? I can't get the OP & ED to play at each episodes. I've gone checking around my other OC releases and they work just fine. :s

Generally, if there is an OP and an EN file, like this one has, it probabaly uses ordered chapters.  When the opening and ending are included as bonuses, they are usually listed as NCOP and NCEN --that is, without the screen credits just to enjoy the music and animation.  But I don't have this series and last I checked this fansub site shut down a few days ago, so I can't say for sure.

Ordered chapters are an absurd nuisance  these days, in my view.  But if you'd like an easy option to play them, just install CCCP from

Lol i already have installed a OC playable device long ago; in my case it's a mplayer2 that is. And i haven't checked any software updates either. Yeah, that's what i thought. It didn't list up as NCOP, it just said "[Ani-HL] True Tears - OP [720p BluRay]",(that's the exact naming) so i assumed it will playback accordingly as OC... i have no idea but maybe it's a BD-Rip so OP & ED were recorded separately? idk.

i think ordered chapters are great when it's a long running series with bunch of OP & ED changing. Saves the disk space. :D

It's based on Thora and Thora is all OC.

I recall a recent series where every episode's OP and EN were different, and Coalgirl still ripped it into OC.  Out of spite for the constant OC complainers, she said.

I haven't got a clue to what's wrong with the encodes i have here... but it's not playing ordered chapters.
Weird. It's contained in the same folder, the media player's plugged in appropriately, every other OC series plays out perfectly, what can be the cause? o_o

If every episode has a different opening and ending each, then i suppose OC doesn't really show its affective ability. In that case, the OP/ED should rather be attached to each episode files.

This is Me: My first guess would be a minor alteration in file names occurred somewhere.  For_example,_underlines_instead of spaces between words in the file name.  This sort of thing sometimes just happens when a file passes thru certain operating systems, like unix or maybe even the Mac OS.

Whichever the OP and EN have now -underline blanks or spaces-, rename the file to have the other and try that, or look up the exact filename expected for the OP and EN.

The Thora version uses blank underlines in the filenames, if it was mimicked in the re-encode.

Oh, and here's a cheerful additional thought: If someone were to just create new copies/versions of the Thora files with each corresponding file now having a new name, but then didn't update the chapters information...Well, that would be dumb, wouldn't it?  mkvmerge would prevent such a mistake by auto-updating the fields I think, but I don't know how this re-encode was created or with what tools.

But if some kind of "copy" without updated info could happen, it might then be possible, maybe, that the chapters would work if all the files were changed back to their original Thora file names.

This is if my first comment on the spaces versus underlines doesn't fix it.  I was awake when I wrote that comment...This last note however

Sorry for the delayed response. Had other things to worry about these days. Hope you're still lurking around this forum. I've thought about the minor alternation in the titles once and tried modifying each file under the same name (copy+pasted one to every other files; in the concept of [Ani-HL]_name_of_the_series_episode_(type_encode)). But that didn't sort everything out so i'm pretty sure that's not the case. The original files had blanks in between each, instead of underlines or hyphens.

Ah, now that's a new hypothesis isn't it? I see... since the one i extracted this series was from a magnet link... there's a remaining possibility that the original uploader MAY have alternated the files to another like you mentioned, but didn't update the chapter info. Changed back to their original THORA files huh? Well in that case... i'm gonna need to find out the names from these original source...

Oh and secondly, in response to Anonymous-san's post from 11/28/15:51, i did update my codec pack to the latest version. Which i think i mentioned before that my using OS is a mac, and thus neither haai or k-lite isn't appropriate for my software.

MKV linking, via both ordered chapters and segment linking, are done via UUID, not filenames, so files can be renamed, and the player should still find the right parts as long as all of them are in the same folder.
It's pretty much certain that a re-encode will change the UUID, and if they simply blindly copied the chapters across, then it won't link properly. mkvinfo should (if memory serves me correctly) provide information on the MKV's UUIDs as well as what's in the chapters. mkvmerge can be used to modify the file's UUID (or the reference in the chapters, if that suits you better).

Yeah, what admin said.  I simplify expressions when I sleep type.  The problem is all these anime girls playing volleyball on the beach.  It's very distrac

Oh, it's the girls of Bakemonogatari versus Omamori Himari.  The fur is going to fly this time...

update your codec pack or try another w/ a new haali (k-lite works for me, some would say cccp is better).
