where are the subs?

I didn't have any problems with subtitles when I played the file. In your video player under the subtitle menu check to see if you can select/deselect the subs (ASS file).
Update your video player/ get MPC-HC (I recommend KCP) and see if that helps.
If not you can download the subtitles from the storage server and try to manually load them into the video.
And even if that doesn't help, you can download the DeadFish version.

Well, I guess this reply is a little late, but I thought I'd let you know—most versions of Aegisub can't read this episode's extracted .ass file due to the presence of Aegisub extradata(and I'm partially responsible for its presence this episode. Sorry.) I'm not entirely sure, but I believe this has got something to do with the fact that files having extradata can't be demuxed correctly. However, I don't know if that's also resulting in missing subs for some people during playback.

Anyway, here's a link to the subtitle file before it was muxed(this can be read by Aegisub correctly): https://mega.co.nz/#!Vdd1DSYD!Sly_rxJG...xrS-F9qp5w since quite a few people on the chyuu website seemed to be interested in getting the .ass file. Perhaps the .ass file linked above can be updated appropriately.
