I can't remember the names, only reason I knew episodes 1 and 2 were here was because I came here to get the japanese rwby and both of those episodes showed up in the search results too. but the torrent did have a group name I didn't recognize and that's why I didn't download them.

Hm, the only releases elsewhere I found are titled "RWBY - S09E0* - **episodetitle** WEBDL-1080p -Tenesh". But idk, maybe they found its way to anidex, certainly not nyaa. In any way if they were not anymore. Maybe DMCA takedown, may account or files deleted (mistake or on purpose). Or you just think they have been here while you found them elsewhere?

That could be the name I saw since I don't know that group. but I did indeed see episodes 1 and 2 listed on this site when I came here days ago to download the japanese rwby from a batch torrent and those episodes were listed in the search results just below the batch file I got.

But like you said they were probably posted here by mistake or on purpose and then removed suddenly and I just happened to see them while looking for the japanese rwby.

Nyaa has previously not allowed even Japanese dub versions of programs that originated outside of Asia, if this is the old RWBY.

It's still the same, produced by Rooster Teeth, just that it's release is now cr exclusive https://www.crunchyroll.com/de/anime-n...ebruary-18 - I've hardly seen such a mixed release form: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RWBY#Release . So yeah, could be too but then they obviously let it be for good 2 weeks.

Looking at the most recent ep (3), the page shows it was posted here on Mar4 and auto-deleted by Mar6, so deleted by Nyaa pretty quick.

No, it was definitely volume 9 listed. there were even screen caps for both episodes on the pages and only that one group name posted both of them.

Does the site keep a record of what's posted? maybe someone can check the history over the past few weeks and see them.

That leads to only one solution, maybe the file / uploader got busted (removed), files like that doesnt appear on search anymore unless there's some comment attached.
Since you said there is thumbnails and all, i'm pretty sure it is still in db.
