I think your note is the first evidence that anyone downloads these HEVC-CR rips.

So you know about HEVC encodes? -That they're not supported by all players, have higher hardware requirements, and may jump and stutter, drop audio or subs if your computer isn't up to the task?

Are you saying video broken different that all that?

Hi,
I gratefully download these rips specifically because they are encoded using HEVC.
I use VLC to play all my videos, and the pc is more than capable of this.
Sorry for the briefity of first post. I downloded it as usual, but when I tried to play it, just got the audio and a green screen.
Must be a corrupt download I thought, so re-downloaded it from different server, but got exactely same result.
Did anyone else get this, or just me?

I downloaded with sendspace, green-screened with latest VLC, black-screened with CCCP/MPC-HC.

It's not the download --There is a lot of strangeness associated with this HEVC ep4 compared to their ep3 last week. Ep3 used the normal Main_10 HEVC profile, But ep4 is listed in mkvinfo as using an "Unknown" profile. The Nyaa page says ep4 is a 12-bit HEVC encode. 12-bit HEVC is news to me, not that I follow HEVC news. Chances are, you'll need the latest version of your video software or something specific to play this. Probably mplayer, since AT has preview pictures ( https://mplayerhq.hu/ (link copied from wiki)). You could also look into VLC's overnight or beta builds.

Good to know what was the problem.
For the time being I have downloaded a Horrible subs 480p release, as I really prefer VLC (i have used the beta/overnight releases before, but prefer the stablility of official releases).

It looks like all their releases since this one also use the new Unknown/12-bit. They recommend using MPC-BE to play them.

Yes you're right, just checked latest episode of Subetega F ni Naru and it's the same green screen.
I have downloaded MPC-BE and plays it no problem. So will try it for a while.
Initial thoughts are it looks good, nice clean interface.
You mentioned above that "They recommend using MPC-BE". Just out of curiosity, who are they? As there isn't any mention in their release of a group name etc. Do they have a website?

MPC-BE is a fork of the now dead Media Player Classic player, like MPC-HC (most popular fork of MPC).
