Anyone is free to get whatever they want with their own seedbox.  Otherwise, it's not like you deserve anything.
24/03/2019 14:53 — Anonymous
And anyone is free to ask for mirroring even if anons wanna pretend like they're somebody.
24/03/2019 15:21 — Anonymous
Yeah, they're free to ask, even if they pretend to be different people asking within seconds of the first request, as in this case.  Even if they claim something is the only BD version of something when it isn't or some other bullshit.  Even if they play the staff for fools, they can ask.

But you know what?  The staff are not fools, I don't think.  And bullshit seldom gets favors, I don't think.  And bullshit requests are probably DOA, I think.

Fortunately, I there are not many who do bullshit, I think.

24/03/2019 16:19 — Anonymous
Thankfully, the staff have almost always listened to the requests rather than the snobs wishing people get eyecancer like they have.
24/03/2019 15:59 — Anonymous
I may as well chime in. The show isn't that popular to begin with. I checked anidex and nyaa and the amount of downloads on this isn't impressive by any standard, even some of the other better than average encodes don't look great on downloads.
There are other ways/places to get this if they REALLY want it but expecting AT to fetch it for the one person who posted several times to request it is just plain nuts. No point in wasting the resources for one person and we know the links will die quickly.
Encodes like this are for the few elitist snobs that look down on others that won't bow down to their alter and grab something they deem inferior.
There are encodes better than Cleo quality (someone brought up Cleo) that are perfectly suitable for watching. The vast majority of people don't watch a release just to look for the most minor details like the elitists snobs do.
To the anon that said AT isn't just a shit quality mini-encde haven site, it also isn't a haven for overly large encodes either and that's why they have a file size limit.
24/03/2019 16:17 — Anonymous
It isn't "overly large", it's "just the right size to maintain quality of the source". It isn't "for elitist snobs", it's for "anyone that doesn't want eyecancer". If you don't want quality, that's fine, ignore it, but to sit here and pretend your opinion matters more than anyone else on the site is foolish. It's not your decision to make. It's the staffs, and until the staff chime in, people will simply continue making requests regardless of whatever foolish cheapskates make replies crying that they can't afford hard drive space.

Nyaa and AniDex download counts are inaccurate as hell to begin with.

I've seen releases that had 6 seedboxes attached to them, all seeded more than 100 ratio, meaning if absolutely no one seeded except the seedboxes there would be roughly 600 completed downloads; yet AniDex would list something like 60 downloads, and Nyaa would list like 98.

The two sites don't even align on count and only seem to showcase roughly 10-30% of total downloads in a lot of tested cases.
24/03/2019 21:22 — Anonymous
Not only that, but (new) nyaa couldn't capture the download stats for releases that came out before (old) nyaa died:

1 old nyaa - https://files.catbox.moe/mf18s1.png
1 new nyaa - https://files.catbox.moe/0ks3nd.png
2 old nyaa - https://files.catbox.moe/6z14j8.png
2 new nyaa - https://files.catbox.moe/qj5wlr.png
3 old nyaa-  https://files.catbox.moe/fcwtsf.png
3 new nyaa - https://files.catbox.moe/h79gzv.png

This is just a random selection of the hundreds of pages I saved from old nyaa compared to what exists on the new site now.
(Note: The last 2 examples are the same exact release. The reported upload time is askew).

This guy says Coalgirls subs are shit, then he says gg-THORA subs are shit.  So he's already seen this BD twice already or he's lying about fansubs.  Either way, no reason to accommodate him.
24/03/2019 20:59 — Anonymous
And no reason not to either. Just some stuck up cheapskate anon trying to push his own opinions on others.
AnimeTosho isn't just a haven for mini-encode mirroring. Should also mirror the best.
The fetch limit is simply in place to stop from mirroring every junk release.
Fetch requests have always been allowed and almost always answered once staff actually visit the site.
So staff will eventually respond and either fetch it or they won't.
Some delusional anon with a false since of modship isn't going to dictate their decision.
24/03/2019 23:38 — Anonymous
Anyone who shits on our beloved fansubs doesn't deserve jpgs.
24/03/2019 23:40 — Anonymous
Who wants shitty jpgs when pngs are offered.
24/03/2019 23:53 — Anonymous
Like some stuck up elitist snob anon pushing their opinion on others, hahaha.
It looks like they are mirroring to me, I can get the torrent here just like I can at the other sites.
The limit isn't just about junk files, it's about resources and the DDL links here die quickly.
Who gets to dictate what are junk files and what are not, an elitist snob like you?
The admin has been here a couple of times since the fetch request was made.
24/03/2019 23:59 — Anonymous
Didn't push my opinion on anyone. I said if you like mini-encodes then move on and find something else. Whether this gets fetched or not does not effect you in the slightest. You're the one here making yourself look foolish because you're a cheapskate that can't afford a hard drive and thus wants everyone to download terrible quality mini's like you do.

Sure though, if having standards make me an elitist snob, then I'll wear that badge with pride.
Much better than having eye cancer by attempting to watch crap mini-encodes.
25/03/2019 00:14 — Anonymous
Looks like you are pushing an opinion like saying the limit is to keep from mirroring every junk release, if that was the case then files like Cleo and other real sub-par encodes wouldn't be fetched. I only look foolish in your eyes and maybe one or two others but the majority that come here won't see it that way otherwise there would be people here en-mass demanding this to be fetched. All I saw was one person making several posts at the start of this thread requesting it.

Cite a case where someone actually got eye cancer from watching even the worst of encodes, that just pure hyperbole.
Also you have no idea how much drive space I have and if I'm too cheap to buy more.
25/03/2019 00:18 — Anonymous
If you had enough space, you wouldn't be crying about releases being too big for you.
So yeah, you can't act like a cheapskate and then pretend you're not.
25/03/2019 00:41 — Anonymous
I have plenty of space and I never said it was too big for me. I said it's too big imo to waste valuable AT resources on for the one person who wants DDL when the links will be dead in a short period of time.
I have this show that was put out by CTR and I'm sure you will call it eye cancer because it's smaller than this release and it's a remux using Philosophy-raws.
I personally don't see the point of downloading another copy of a show I'll probably won't watch again.

If you are so gung-ho about a DDL link for this release why don't you upload it to a file host and post a link here for that one anon to grab?
25/03/2019 00:46 — Anonymous
Even Catar agrees her release [CTR] is inferior to [SCY].
25/03/2019 00:54 — Anonymous
Whatever the best is, no one deserves it unless they pay for it.  You just want a deeper reach into admin's pockets.
25/03/2019 00:57 — Anonymous
Looking at it that way, animetosho may as well not exist at all.
Foolish cheapskate.
25/03/2019 00:46 — Anonymous
Actually, most of us are probably worried about admin's costs and to not kill off the good download services like we did Solidfiles who now blocks our server and will probably do something more if they figure out admin is sneaking access via an aggregator service.

Basically, Solidfiles is all but toast, and who knows what Zippy is thinking.  And some here want more...

Speaking of which, what do you think about links being created at 30 ddl-services for one person to use one set of?  What a waste.  Obviously AT was designed for community needs, not individual ones.
25/03/2019 00:50 — Anonymous
Just because 2 or 3 people is all that requested doesn't mean there aren't hundreds of silent people. Vocal minority is not the silent majority.

You're not worried about anything but pushing your opinions down on others.

Solidfiles was garbage anyways, as is most file hosts. No loss there. Zippyshare on the other hand is probably the best of the existing hosts AnimeTosho currently utilizes.

In any case, one 30GB release is not going to spell the death of AnimeTosho, not when it processes TBs worth of individual episodes on a weekly basis.
25/03/2019 00:57 — Anonymous
My opinions push because they have weight.  And you have nothing to counter them so you just whine.

Silent majority?  Yeah, they've been silent for years on this show...  How weak.
25/03/2019 00:59 — Anonymous
foolishly delusional cheapskate believing anything he says holds any value.

lol
25/03/2019 00:48 — Anonymous
Maximum Size:

I have a question for all you knowledgeable people: What should be the maximum file size GB or MB per standard length episode (24 min or so) of BD and DVD should be considered for a fetch?

Bear in mind that we already know that AT skips BDMV and DVD-ISO files, with or without subs.

Or, if you prefer, what percent minimum reduction of the original file size by lossy encode?

I'm looking for numbers, please.  Movies and such could be calculated from this standard.

Providing no numbers gives you a failing grade on this.
25/03/2019 00:55 — Anonymous
Setting some barrier of compression % across the board is silly and only someone who doesn't encode would suggest otherwise. Some shows can compress 60% from source, while other sources may only compress 25% of the source. There is no way to judge where to set the line in terms of what will remain transparent to the source but not be bloated. This is exactly why some shows may have transparent encodes at 1GB an episode while others may require 3GB an episode to remain transparent.

Setting a 15GB auto-fetch limit works in a lot of cases; and those that fall outside of that are allowed to be requested for fetching if people deem it desirable. Otherwise a lot of those that don't get fetched remain silent of any comments or requests which saves from having to spend the data to provide them.

People requesting a fetch shows there is a desire for the release. Regardless of how many people that may be.
25/03/2019 01:03 — Anonymous
compression %: I was trying to find a way for anyone to express an opinion.

So your answer is 15GB per 24 minute episode.  So a 12 ep series would be 180GB. That seems way out of the mainstream for AT or Nyaa folk.  Perhaps personal services go that route.  Thanks.  You should probably not hope to rely on AT for that.
25/03/2019 01:05 — Anonymous
That is not what I said.
25/03/2019 01:07 — Anonymous
Not even the BDMV is 15GB an ep, lol. Generally 6-8GB an ep on JPBD and 4-6GB on USBD.
25/03/2019 01:11 — Anonymous
That's what I thought, but I don't like to speak badly of people offering opinions.  So if you have an answer go ahead.  If none, thanks.
25/03/2019 01:20 — Anonymous
I think some here are looking for expensive lossless encodes.  Nothing else will satisfy them.

Poor admin.
25/03/2019 01:27 — Anonymous
I think some are just here to troll anyone requesting fetches regardless of anything. Every time I see someone ask for something, someone has to jump on the request to tell them to go download minis.
25/03/2019 01:28 — Anonymous
Nothing expensive about downloading pirated materials.
Even hard drives are cheap.
25/03/2019 01:34 — Anonymous
I'm just a public defender, defending peoples rights given to them by the admin to make fetch requests when they want and not being forced to subject themselves to eyecancer inducing mini-encodes if they don't want to. Unfortunately some anons feel to the need to attack everyone and anyone who makes any request, because they want to feel like they have some power to dictate things on an piracy site they have zero authority on and they attempt to pretend to speak for the staff. Only the staff need to make any sort of reply to the fetch requests. Any anon telling people they can't make a fetch request should simply be ignored.
25/03/2019 07:44 — Anonymous
To the anon above me, when one person pretends to be 4 by making 4 separate fetch posts in 2 minutes on a 2 week old release, people are going to say something. The admin has already mentioned the problems he is having with hosting sites and how he may have to even end the direct service.
Most people who really want large sized files know the other ways and places to get them from if they won't use torrents.
It looks like the friends of the uploader and maybe even [SCY] himself are here hammering their eye cancer BS line here. It's the same rhetoric they use on Kametsu when talking about encodes done outside their little cliche of friends.
25/03/2019 12:59 — Anonymous
Everytime i hear them speak, i get ear cancer
25/03/2019 01:42 — Anonymous
Thanks, all the thoughts are already out there.

I'll check back tomorrow to see if anyone can put GB's to their thoughts.  If they can't, that will be meaningful as well.
10/08/2019 12:52 — Anonymous
Is it possible for someone to provide subtitle files and fonts, please.
10/08/2019 14:11 — Anonymous
Ask at their website.  I have heard they provide ddl as well.
