According to the description it was requested what suggests that I may be different enough to be considered better/worse than the official Commie BD release. Could someone be so kind and point at the differences?

i haven't compared them so i don't know about video quality, but i guess one reasen for the request was FLAC since commie only released in AAC, add to that maybe the in general quicker release of rushjobs vs commie on a volume by volume basis
but i am just guessing here

FLAC is a lossless audio format/codec, meaning compression with no data loss so the original raw audio can be reconstructed. Commie uses a lossy audio compression which loses data. Lossy makes much smaller file sizes. Lossless gives you future options, should any ever emerge.

In terms of audio quality, some say they can hear a difference between lossy and lossless. Some people say they can't. Some say no one can.
