Yes I do know what it says on the FAQ and trust me I uploaded something even bigger than that on that particular download site and have never had a problem before

I generally prefer sticking to stated limits to avoid potential issues, though I have never tried exceeding them. It's possible that you've just found a loophole perhaps?
All files posted to OpenLoad are wrapped in 7z archives to prevent automatic re-encoding, however.
