I assume this is 480p?

Is there a 720p version?

There is Ninja Scroll the movie and Ninja Scroll the TV series. There are several HD releases available for the movie, as found on the AT link mentioned by anon. Any single link offer is probably the movie.

The TV series was released in 1993, so 480p or 576p at best, probably. I don't know of any 720p for the series.

By clicking on any episode, you can see preview pictures and get some of the details, such as:
-Resolution 720 by 480p
-The original screen ratio was 3:2 but it is being displayed as 4:3
-And so on

A new series "Ninja Scrolls Blast" is in the works, maybe.

Wished they remaster it to fit new HDTV, viewing alot of 480p stuff will have an adverse effect on your HDTV's as there will be a after effect mark on the sides of the screen. Happen to a friend who has a plasma HDTV.

LCD were never very susceptible to "burn-ins" and you should be fine.
Plasma's (and apparently OLED) do have more of a concern, but with a modern TV you shouldn't have any problems.
If you do run into this leave the TV on for around 100hrs on some non-static image and it will probably it will go away.

Also, some HDTV's have a "Screen Saver" function  in the Options.  If you have a plasma or are worried, check for it.  Better still, set a screen saver or blanking function on your laptop or pc.  And I believe some video players have screen saver options for when paused a certain length of time.

1. Unless you have plasma, should be ok.
2. If burn-in occurred, you  would need to go and buy a much larger and sharper and brighter HDTV for the same price you paid for your current one...

P.S. By "screen saver" I mean screen blanking and powering down rather than random bubble patterns and such.  It may be listed under power management.  My laptop blanks the screen and powers down the video after 15 minutes on pause, kicks back up on any key press or mouse movement.

But I guess screen savers wouldn't help if the problem was actually watching hours and hours of 4:3.
