It will auto-scale down to your playback screen and look normal, the question is whether your hardware can handle the load or stutters.

There should be plenty of alternative versions soon.

On 720p TVs (like mine) anything over 1080p even with the fullscreen view doesn't work out too well.

Well then please get a proper 720p release, whatever makes your watch experience ideal. You shouldn't even be getting 500mb 4k (it being hevc doesn't make this any better) lmao.

Aside from waiting for 720p encodes, you can try setting the output to 720p in your media player. It might look better.
