If by "better" you mean visually, then bigger files are always your best bet. If file size is part of 'better', then it's up to you to decide what quality at what size is good for you. Playback can also be different for some devices when x265 is used.

The subs are the same.

in video & audio quality, w/c is superior? Sometimes downscaling the file have a problem affecting the vid & audio quality.
