It's a shame that there's no proper version of this great anime movie here on AT. By "proper" I mean a 720p BD version with a size around 850MB and original language (Japanese).
Can anyone post a link to a "proper" version of this impressive anime?!

There are no small size for this movie, as for some reason all of them are basically 6gb and above like Akira. Thora version is the smallest one available so far, and it's still 4gb.

Some sites are devoted to small size encodes and often don't torrent.
Here's one:

They have this movie, but you'll have to register to get details.

Thanks for your reply, but the available movie on MiniT is too mini :) It was just 393MB (obviously image quality will be the same: too low)
And the mentioned 850MB for a 108-min movie isn't that small :)

For a movie to have a "proper" looking picture at least without noticeable blurring, its gotta be at least 2gb or so. 850mb is still not enough.

size depends on visual content: flat textures, number of scene changes, and other compressible or non-compressible elements, not just minutes. There are no a priori 'right' answers.

That can be right and image quality is a subjective issue after all but according to my (years of) experience 7MB/min is a minimum standard to acceptable quality (while video is AVC and audio is 2 Ch and ...).

765MB is OK. Overall bit rate can be around 980 kbps.
Thanks man ;)

Gents, (miraculously!) I've found this 720p x264 MP4 AAC 850MB version of Metropolis (2001):
https://r6dob1gh1i.1fichier.com/best-m....ozlem.rar

But I'm not sure if the language is in Jp or En. Can anyone download it and let me know what the language is?! (My Internet is too slow to risk downloading this big, likely useless file (if language is En)).
If language is Jp I will download it and if not I will go with the one provided by 00sas.

According to this site, it's in English. And Ozlem is a movie encoding group instead of anime focused so they might not care much about the original audio.

Here's the link to that "too mini" version (393MB) for anyone interested:
