I downloaded both versions. The main body of this 720p encode is watchable --but not more than just (colors, detail, textures -dull). Interestingly, the subs look much sharper than the movie. But the fancy computer graphics ending dance and credits are chunky and beyond horrible. I believe the encoder was trying to provide people with the small file sizes they wanted. But a good 720p of this movie will need to be 1 - 1.5 GB bigger, if this version is any measure. Or maybe it can be done better. I would call this a "mini-mkv" version. Set your expectations on "not-stunned".

Yes they always will be no matter the size when they are softsubs, because they are generated on top of the image by your player not encoded in the image like hardsubs. Just in case you were wondering why.

The problem is that the movie is not English subtitled at all. Really misleading. But the screenshot shows the subtitles. What gives?

There should be, try downloading the subtitles alone and loading them into the file (make sure they're the same name).
