madvr playing this video with lags, lav audio decoder playing jap_audio with artefacts. bullshit release.
16/09/2020 23:12 — Anonymous
madvr is more computer intense than other renderers.  Using the standard EVR in MPC-HC I get no hint of lag.  If the video lags due to your hardware limits, audio and subs will have problems too.

We used to think madvr had better quality playback, but I've seen any differences recently.

upgrade to mpv and you'll be fine.
17/09/2020 00:44 — Anonymous
imagine using madvr or mpc-hc in 2020... my god.
17/09/2020 00:50 — Anonymous
The MPC-HC version is 1.9.7.34 from KLite.  The build is new as of Aug 2020.

lol

The various players all produce the same result.  If one of them makes rainbows burst out of your ass and fills your pants with Skittles candies, then good for you.

Such a silly thing to care about.
17/09/2020 03:16 — Anonymous
Actually they legitimately do not.

Depending on the video and subtitle package players have different results:

VLC FINALLY can play Hi444PP but it does so wrong. It'll darken the video.
VLC's subtitle renderer still freaks out and fails to render various shit.

MPC-HC's subtitle renderer is buggy and will display fonts improperly which leads to broken typesetting in various releases.

MPV is recommended by fansubbers because it's the only one that doesn't have issues in regards to playing their releases.

So yeah... there is legitimate reasons to not stay in the stone age of video players and actually upgrade to something decent.
17/09/2020 03:29 — Anonymous
MPV is recommended by fansubbers because they cba to run it in different players. They are stone age nerds who play video files by typing out commands. No wonder they like MPV so much.
17/09/2020 03:59 — Anonymous
lol, nope. it's literally because often the files have issues in other options.

typing out commands? as if. mpv doesn't require typing anything to play.

any other falsehoods you'd like to spew?
17/09/2020 04:09 — Anonymous
if fansubbers ever come out with a good idea, mark the date on your calendar and hire some druids to celebrate it with you.

As for the rest, it's all bullshit.

And no one is asking for your recommendations, no one cares.  Quit looking lonely at a website.  Go watch some anime.
17/09/2020 04:13 — Anonymous
I will, in mpv since it's 2020, thanks.
17/09/2020 01:55 — Anonymous
When you're an idiot, and you don't use mpv.

Lag, artifact? x265 is reserved for certain devices, just like the laptop you buy, you can only buy a laptop that fit your wallet, but you can't buy an expensive laptop for you. x265 is of course for higher hardware. I ryzen 5 and gtx 1650 users did not find any problem for x265.

werks on my core 2 duo
17/09/2020 14:07 — raikina
Im sad to see people talk shit about x265 encoding just because they having lag in their devices. they really need to learn about video type format at least. also knowing that their graphic card on their PC/laptop is a trash.

people currently encode vid to x265 because thats the 2nd best way compression method after AV1(new type encode)
I have watch x265 anime without lag because im using Nvidia gtx 1050.
if u don't have graphic card, don't even dare to download x265 anime!

You can download horriblesub, deadfish, eraiwar vid if u can't play x265.

Their hardware most be real crap. I can play x265 just fine with a crappy bulldozer FX-4100 and cheap Intel onboard graphics chip.

May The Force Be With You
Let's stay serious friends, even old laptops with Intel or AMD processors from 2015 can run x265 files on integrated graphics, either with software or hardware decoding, If I may cite one friend's comment: "Any PC released in the past 10 years should be able to play H.265/HEVC videos using software decoding with a player such as VLC. But note that CPU usage will be high, especially at 1080p on older machines which doesn't support DirectX 11". For newer ones it rarely have issues.

If you know your hardware is pretty old just stick to AVI or MP4 as you could even struggle with h264 in high presets.
19/09/2020 22:42 — Anonymous
A lot of newer hardware has issues playing AV1 no matter what layer is used.
Lots of reports of stuttering etc. It's still in it's infancy with growing pains especially for home encoding.
x.265 went through the same growing issues for home encoders.

AVC High Preset isn't just a MKV thing. MP4 can have it too.
20/09/2020 21:46 — Anonymous
MKV and MP4 are just containers.
I guess Aaron doesn't realize that x265 can be in a .mp4 file.

The issue in this case is not hevc but madvr.  MadVR is a high quality rendering engine made to run with a gpu.  I can run it with just my cpu but the cpu gets so hot that I can feel the hot spot thru my case.

Well I can just do a v2
