Hello, is the decimal marker off here? A single 23mins anime episode at just 1080p res takes up more than 6 gigabytes (more than a DVD)? Sounds a little sus to me.

No, it's correct. LY is using GJM's encode which in turn is huge due to the grainy nature of the show (despite not seeming as such to the untrained eye) and settings which allow it to look as good as a WEB source allows. If size is an issue and video quality isn't a concern feel free to get the original WEB-DLs or mini encodes (re-encodes).
