>doing subs
>not fixing honorifics and leaving Mr/Miss cringe
>not fixing pointless and retarded switched name order

literally what's the point
29/01/2025 10:56 — Anonymous
Not having honorifics is fixing the subs
30/01/2025 17:37 — Anonymous
Cope. Even normies on mal prefer honorifics in subs. You're minority. Every single poll posted anywhere in the internet results in 80%+ for keeping honorifics, especially in setting like this anime. You're just a simple minded xenophobe that's all.
30/01/2025 17:46 — Anonymous
Not the anon you are replying to but he's not a minority, polls are easily jaded. Xenophobia has absolutely nothing to do with not wanting foreign language mixed in with English. Try removing honorifics in the Japanese language and using Mr, Mrs etc and see the blow back you would get.
30/01/2025 17:49 — Anonymous
Okay, whatever you say tourist-kun.
30/01/2025 17:53 — Anonymous
Okay, whatever you say tourist-arse.
30/01/2025 18:47 — Anonymous
Would you translate ramen as noodles or kimono as dress? It's kinda right but doesn't actually fit or convey the full meaning.
Just like translating -sama, -dono, -shi, -san or -kun all as Mr.  doesn't actually fit or convey the right meaning...if it can't be translated then don't try to translate it, simple.

I'd also put money on most people who complain about correct honorifics are dub watchers anyway.
30/01/2025 18:55 — Anonymous
Ramen is a dish containing noodles made using a Chinese noodles and a Kimono is a type of dress but just calling it a dress is the same as calling a lion a cat
30/01/2025 19:01 — Anonymous
Ramen and Kimono are actual words in the English dictionary, sama, kun etc are not. It's mainly dweebs that care about honorifics and leaving off the honorifics doesn't affect the story line.
30/01/2025 19:23 — Anonymous
I does affect the story line all the freaking time....so many dialogues get fucking up by people trying to TL honorifics. The most recent I can think of is Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy S02, the arrogant hero to the other hero: "So could you stop calling me Tomoki-kun? Tomoki-sama might be a bit too much, \Nbut at least call me Tomoki-san."

There is no way to TL that using Mr. and have it make any kind of sense.
30/01/2025 19:29 — Anonymous
"So could you stop calling me Tomoki? Lord Tomoki might be a bit too much, \Nbut at least call me Sir Tomoki."

Mr is far from the only English honorific, maybe you should those before talking about the Japanese ones
30/01/2025 19:54 — Anonymous
Tell me you're an ESL without telling me you're an ESL.
30/01/2025 19:59 — Anonymous
Lord in english is a title and term of respect, sama is not a title.
Sir is a term of respect to your betters, san is a term of respect to your equals.
Kun is used to address to adolescent males or derisively as a  put down so just dropping it doesn't work to actually display the difference between the three.
30/01/2025 20:03 — Anonymous
^^ Congrats you finally realized that Japanese and English is not the same language. Most weebs don't understand that. See if you want honorifics why bother translating. Just watch it raw but you can't since you and other weebs don't speak japanese.
30/01/2025 20:08 — Anonymous
Lord being a title depends on context in which it's used

San is a term used for your betters, if you are gonna shill honorifics then at least know when to us them

Kun specifically doesn't have an equivalent in English because of difference in how it and Japanese are structured so you remove the honorific there
30/01/2025 20:11 — Anonymous
I'm talking about subtitles here, it seems you can't understand that.
30/01/2025 20:24 — Anonymous
There are no honorifics in english, my dude. It's not going to happen. All these yappings will not changed the uploader's mind.
30/01/2025 20:29 — NotAnAnonNow
> All these yappings will not changed the uploader's mind.

Exactly, it's like the time some people were demanding different defaults on an uploaders' files.
30/01/2025 20:41 — Anonymous
Lord being a title depends on context in which it's used_____<my point, sama can't be confused.

San is a term used for your betters, if you are gonna shill honorifics then at least know when to us them___wrong san is for an equal or better while showing respect but not deference. (I'm not wrong about this specific case just maybe too generalized)

Kun specifically doesn't have an equivalent in English because of difference in how it and Japanese are structured so you remove the honorific there____<also my point, you remove the "japanese" by dropping it, and it doesn't make sense.

In this specific case, these two sentences "So could you stop calling me Tomoki?" and "So could you stop calling me Tomoki-kun?" have different meanings, the first you are left wondering what to call him instead (family name, title?), the second if you listen to his speech and he emphasizes "kun" so you know he means change the "kun".
30/01/2025 21:22 — Anonymous
That's not how translation works, anyway.
30/01/2025 17:47 — Anonymous
Normies as you call them don't use MAL, only turbo weebs use tracking sites
30/01/2025 17:50 — Anonymous
>only turbo weebs use tracking sites
This is pure delusion ahahahahahah
30/01/2025 17:54 — Anonymous
As delusional as you touching grass?

Normal people don't keep a list of shows they've watched, maybe you should try and talk to people who don't spend 12 hours a day watching Japanese cartoons
30/01/2025 18:04 — Anonymous
>as you touching grass?
Go back to reddit, tourist.
30/01/2025 18:06 — Anonymous
Damn touching grass makes one a tourist?

That statement says more about you than it does me
30/01/2025 18:07 — Anonymous
Still here? Sho, sho.
01/02/2025 20:58 — Anonymous
Normies are watching dubs or Crunchyroll subs. You think normies give a shit about fansubs? Your comment is by far the dumbest comment here. Removing honorifics from fansubs to try to make them look more like dubtitles is asinine.
01/02/2025 21:10 — Anonymous
Better to be a normie than an abnormie. There are more of us than there are you.
02/02/2025 01:17 — Anonymous
Sadge. All the yaps won't do anything. The uploader simply doesn't care about whatever you say about honorifics. Move on, weebs.
30/01/2025 18:13 — Anonymous
Low quality bait.
01/02/2025 21:20 — Anonymous
Hahahah MAL is the worst, most of the information is wrong or outdated...
29/01/2025 12:20 — Anonymous
fuck honorifics
31/01/2025 16:09 — Anonymous: "Bozorg-san"
F U ;)
29/01/2025 13:17 — Anonymous
Wanting honorifics in english TL = cringe.
29/01/2025 13:24 — Anonymous
Using honorifics in the English language would be like removing honorifics and using Mr. Mrs etc in the Japanese language.
01/02/2025 21:05 — Anonymous
No, because Japanese has "san" which is functionally similar to Mr. and Ms. English doesn't have anything functionally similar to "kun," "chan," "dono," etc.

Btw, it's uncommon, but I have seen that in Japanese, which you would know if you've ever read anything in Japanese. Also, you're comparing different cultures, so it's not really relevant how the Japanese do it.
01/02/2025 21:14 — Anonymous
>you're comparing different cultures, so it's not really relevant how the Japanese do it.
That's right and the English culture doesn't need the Japanese honorifics, only dweebs do. As one anon said we use real English, not Englanese.
02/02/2025 00:53 — Anonymous
Except this is english TL. The uploader doesn't care about honorifics, only you do tho. if it bothers you that much, make your own release then.
30/01/2025 03:55 — Anonymous
Lmao what a weeb.
30/01/2025 19:34 — Anonymous
Weebs will do everything but learn Japanese. I mean if you love honorifics so much, why still speak english? Speak Japanese. Oh right they can't. Sadge.
30/01/2025 19:41 — Anonymous
Who asked?
30/01/2025 19:50 — Anonymous
The Weebs ofc.
30/01/2025 19:52 — Anonymous
weebs wanting honorifics in english TL = cringe. you'll never become a japanese.
30/01/2025 21:45 — Anonymous
🤡
The best part of it, you honorifics and general culture preservation haters are the cringiest and the most braindead kind of people. Simple minded backwater clowns.
30/01/2025 21:59 — Anonymous
Low tier bait.
30/01/2025 22:05 — Anonymous
Learn japanese, weebs. You will then understand that cultures in Japan is not just about watching anime and demanding the uploader to use honorifics in their release. Weebs are cringe. change my mind.
30/01/2025 22:16 — Anonymous
*Weebs are cringe.
Yes they are. Just like the weeb that said the group for Girls Band Cry was rated #14 and 16 in Japan but a check shows that in the Japanese music culture they don't come even near the top 100 in Japan.
30/01/2025 22:26 — Anonymous
Thumbs up!
31/01/2025 04:43 — Anonymous
Don't need to, weeks are indeed cringe.
30/01/2025 05:16 — Anonymous
Hello i am Anonymous-sama...
30/01/2025 17:56 — Anonymous
subs are just a temp measure until the dubs.  Ever hear a dub with honorifics -it sounds as stupid as you'd expect.
30/01/2025 18:03 — Anonymous
My IQ is not below 50, so I never watch dubs. Who even care about dubs, holy shit. And it applies to any foreign art, not just Japanese.
30/01/2025 20:00 — NotAnAnonNow
/me Grabs another bag of popcorn.
30/01/2025 20:04 — Anonymous
okay and???
30/01/2025 20:09 — NotAnAnonNow
/me sits back munching popcorn watching the crap show.

You either like honorifics or you don't. No one is changing anyone's mind in the end.
30/01/2025 20:13 — Anonymous
ok, and?
30/01/2025 20:15 — NotAnAnonNow
There is no "and" no matter how many times you repeat yourself. I'm just enjoying the crap show.
30/01/2025 20:20 — Anonymous
yeah, because you also enjoyed creating the crap show. This is my favorite tho:
https://animetosho.org/feedback?page=4...mment20329

to which I replied again: okay, and?
30/01/2025 20:22 — NotAnAnonNow
Actually it was LX that started that crap show.
30/01/2025 20:26 — Anonymous
Who cares, you and LX was part of that crap show. It's even worse than this. This comment section actually discusses something. Unlike yours.
30/01/2025 20:34 *NotAnAnonNow
The difference between this thread and the other was LX was trying to push the admin into banning anon comments which would have affected even you. Of course I was going to fight that.

Edit: I have other things to do right now so don't expect any quick replies.
30/01/2025 20:46 — Anonymous
lmao fight? all you did was create an account. That changed what? nothing.
30/01/2025 22:50 — Anonymous
You're so funny. I remember that. Luxury was saying people with an account wouldn't say mean things about him and was whining about the anons posting. Notananon proved him wrong by creating an account and pointing out that an account wouldn't change anything because if removed an anon would just create another account.
30/01/2025 22:54 — Anonymous
So, nothing changed. Reading is hard ig.
30/01/2025 22:58 — Anonymous
Right, because he stood up to Luxury's twisted logic. Logic for you is hard ig.
31/01/2025 04:29 — Anonymous
Okay and? What does that achieve? In the end, nothing really changed. I guess reading is really hard for you.
31/01/2025 16:21 — Anonymous: "Bozorg-san"
To those uncultured ignorant bunch who are against honorifics and call others 'weeb': Just STFU and go watch crappy American animations on Adult Swim ;)
31/01/2025 16:25 — Anonymous
saying something nasty with a wink makes you look like a moron.
31/01/2025 16:26 — Anonymous
Cringe. Stop it. get some help.
31/01/2025 17:00 — Anonymous
My culture is real English, not Englanese. I see you are uncultured by needing subs instead of watching raws.
01/02/2025 09:03 — Anonymous
This to be honest. Honorifics haters were always the dumbest, the most ignorant and toxic clowns you can imagine.
01/02/2025 09:44 — Anonymous
Cringe. stop it. get some help, weebs.
01/02/2025 09:53 — Anonymous
How to stop being a weeb :
1. Learn Japanese.
2. Take a shower.

weebs are cringe. change my mind.
01/02/2025 11:13 — Anonymous
Wrong.
1. Stop watching anime
2. Go out in the rain
01/02/2025 11:17 — Anonymous
Telling weebs to stop watching anime is like asking them to stop breathing. Number 2 is just pure cringe. just like weebs and you.
01/02/2025 13:34 — Anonymous
wdym cringe, I like rain
01/02/2025 13:43 — Anonymous
who asked? no one.
01/02/2025 15:15 — Anonymous
lol
01/02/2025 13:19 — Anonymous
> This to be honest. Honorifics lovers were always the dumbest, the most ignorant and toxic clowns you can imagine.

FTFY
01/02/2025 13:29 — admin
So, has the insult flinging definitively resolved the issue of whether honorifics or non-honorifics is superior?
Are your comments actually convincing anyone, or do you continue because you feel like you have some moral obligation to fight for your opinion?
Is "different people have differing opinions" a possible conclusion, or is wasting your own time to win an internet fight of higher importance?
