I'm watching FFF version (as soon I found out that they were releasing it), out of the 07 episodes I've seen, I do like the show.
BUT
I liked Gingitsune more, I haven't really thought what the AOTS for me is, but Ging is a contender. Watch that, if you're not already.

I think of "School Days" as unique "train-wreck" genre.  You don't want to watch, but you can't turn away.  I can't think of a comparable example for miss-directing the viewer, except Clannad After Story, depending on how you think it ended.

LOL, sorry, I misunderstand your statement. Yeah, it's because I took your >"big treat ahead" as a sarcasm. My college japan circle set me up with that Goddamn anime which is really gave me a huge trauma when taking an anime recommendation from someone.

Clannad after story is okay for me. I was actually disappointed that KyoAni choose the happy ending as the true end of this series. They really toyed with my feelings and emotions.

Ok, I'll type the detail but don't expect me to give a proper explanation as I do not know so much about this topic too (This is simply what my IRL friends told me about my taste). Peoples seeing me as a product of present anime production which (they think) had decreased in term of quality after KyoAni won the hearts of many otaku with their moeblob anime "K-On" that causing many other company start to try their luck by producing those kind of anime too. I don't know what happen after this (in fact, I don't remember this part), but the moeblob type anime finally become a trademark of anime nowadays. By the fact that most moeblob anime have no plot, tension, or drama, people start to consider it as a cancer that killing anime (quality) slowly. （￣□￣；）

After hearing this explanation, I said that I still love moeblob anime. (*^▽^*)
