354mb for a 480p? Sup with that? Simple Lax an Lazy encoding?

Horrible is really inconsistant with filesizes these days. It used to always be around 140mb-ish, give or take. Now theyrelease encodes in the 400mb range, whilst at the same time some of their other recent 480p releases are sub 100mb. I wonder what the deal is with that? the recent 100mb ones are fine btw, normal good quality for a smallish screen.

HorribleSubs is an automated ripping bot. No encoding done. Filesizes are due to the simulcast service, in this case Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll decided to increase bitrate cause they finally realized they had some of the crappiest quality of all anime streamers aside from HiDive.

Erai doesn't do 480p, but their 720p and 1080p are exactly (.00) the same size as Horrible. Doesn't this suggests neither are encoding, just capturing a stream? If so, size depends on source. 149mb last week, 354mb this week too different to be encoding.

HorribleSubs releases would by definition fit the WEB-DL tag, not the WEBRip tag. Since they're ripping the source video and not capping and not doing any encoding.
