It's never been a secret equivalent quality encodes between HEVC and AVC are almost always roughly the same size. And hevc only saves space by denoising which degrades quality. So there isn't any reason to needlessly spend 4x as long encoding a file to end up with something thats roughly same file size and quality. The only real use for HEVC is with true 4k files that have HDR issuses.
