Can you guys get the rest of these? Note, there is two versions of this series running concurrently: Yakunara Mug Cup mo - The animated series, and Yakunara Mug Cup mo - Housou Chokuzen, which is special eps featuring the Saiyous, it's been subbed and it's actually quite watchable, SDAiyous are cute and funny. We are up to episode 4 as of now, only seeing ep1 on animetosho

SubsPlease labelled the 02.1 and 03.1 as Live Action Subbed on Nyaa, so they will not be featured on this website.

It's not live action though, nyaa is in error on that. It is an anime related 'extra' like you'd get on a BD or DVD, and it features the Saiyous from the anime, doing stuff related to the anime. It is certainly not 'live action', it is more like background info to the anime, visiting the places where the anime is set etc. the two shows are airing as a set on Japanese TV, both togeter make up the regular 24 mins for a TV slot. Please reconsider and link it here!

"live action"means not animated. The purpose doesn't matter.

Convince Nyaa to change it. Prepare for gusts of laughter in your face.

That SSA version is HEVC, erai or subsplease would be very much preferable

"SDAiyous" = typo, I meant to write Saiyou
05/05/2021 03:53 — Anonymous
Not worth correcting that typo unless you want to change it to "seiyuu". "Saiyou" is another word entirely meaning to adopt/use.
05/05/2021 20:03 — Anonymous
lolol a gaijin correcting Romanji Japanese hahahahahah at best Romanji is just a makeshift translation of what Japanese sounds like into the Roman English alphabet. Everyone here knows what anon meant by "Saiyou"
05/05/2021 20:05 — Anonymous
Next we'll be getting ever-so-smart-asses correcting Sempai with Senpai (hint, both are interchangeable and equally acceptable)
05/05/2021 20:25 — Anonymous
The Japanese language is heavily dependant on context, if ever there is doubt just look at how the word fits into the sentance around it. To split hairs over the spelling of Romanji is immature and moronic.
05/05/2021 22:31 — Anon
It's not romanji. The correct word is rōmaji (with a long o, hence ō).

I'm a layman in a fansub like you guys, but I often hear this word in anime... Saiyou in Japanese "Exactly or right"
06/05/2021 11:55 — Margaan
Sounds like you've been watching Yuru Camp (or another show with someone speaking Kansai-ben) and hearing Aoi saying, "seyona." ("Seyo" is also used, but "seyona" is a little more common.)
06/05/2021 21:32 — Anonymous
Like anon above said: Context.

Like, the word for cute sounds a lot like the word for scary, and taking regional accents into the equation context is very helpful. I guess it's the same for non English speakers with similar sounding English words, e.g. cunt sounds a lot like cant, context being helpful here too

Someone complaining AT isn't supplying the exact free thing they want? Check.
Someone pointlessly correcting romaji? Check.
Someone enjoying a meta moment by calling another post immature? Check.

Nice to see nothing changes here :D

Interesting discussion. I personally think that the instaknowledge provided by websites like knowyourmeme, urbandictionary, webtropes etc etc has ruined the internet, along with search engines of course. Now we have so many examples of people just fucking about in a jovial way being interupted by some midwit who would normally have been unable to bother anyone as he would not have understood the 'lingo' being used. The phenomenon can be very jarring and is just another nail in the coffin of the simple innocent fun of just fucking about on the internet.
Like, as an example of how this works - Somewhat reads this thread and they don't know what the word "Saiyou" means, they do a quick google search to find out what it means, then comes back and uses his newfound googlewisdom to make a snarky comment.

Its just, that kinda thing didn't happen pre 2010, everything flowed a little better, antagonistic comments used to be.... funny, now it's just all midwits trying to be smart

It's Zoomers man, they grew up with the internet, they use it to lie and cheat on their school tests, they get a pat on the head and told that they are very smart cookies - Someone needs to tell them all that the internet used to be a fun place
06/05/2021 23:21 — Anonymous
Part of the reason that employers want experienced people, not people who need to lie and cheat using the internet to fake their intelligence.

Smartphones also, enabling normans onto the interwebz, makers of driveby posts with no investment in the community at hand. It's all about getting a quick endorphin hit. If only we could take them all back to pre 2012 interrnet to give them a glimpse of what they ruined
07/05/2021 20:19 — Anonymous
social media too, and the move towards posting under your own name rather than a screenname, it has turned the internet an ego driven cesspool - in a few short years we have seen the vast majority of the web move from a spirit of weebs doing it for the lulz, to normies doing it for the likes and upvotes

07/05/2021 20:23 — Anonymous

monetization too - remember the phrase 'surfing the web'? That was referring to how bloggers had a list of all the stuff they liked down the side of their page - thus actually encouraging you to 'surf' away from their blog, to someone else's. That is unthinkable now, with everyone trying to keep the attention (and google ad money) focused firmly on themselves.

08/05/2021 12:31 — Anonymous
"monetization" - This is the key behind the destruction of the web. I remember when google results were actually relevant to a search query - Now they're simply about trying to sell stuff, whilst logging as much of your data as possible. Also, pre monetised youtube - say you were looking for a demonstration on for example how to make a paracord wristband, there'd be one video with perfect instructions, now theres 100's and 100's of copies of the same demonstration, with half assed presenters doing bodged demonstrations, all chasing the clicks and grubby google $$$s

and since 2016 we now have the political aspects and cancel culture, search for something normal on google and they somegow manage to stuff the search results with completely random and unasked for woke & LBTQ links

I hope someone like the Big guy from Mega (aka Maegaupload) can come good on his promise of reclaiming and freeing the net, peer to peer based, search engines that actually work, etc etc

"move towards posting under your own name rather than a screenname"

Would make no difference. Even back then your 'real name' wasn't verified in any manner.
Forcing people to somehow verify who they really are will hurt the internet and kill plenty of social media outlets/platforms.

LMAO Mate, you (and others) sure read a whole helluva lot into me simply telling the OP he didn't need to bother correcting the typo because we obviously all knew what he was saying, even with using the wrong word (because, well... context lol). My apologies for telling him what the word he was using meant in case he wanted to know - I guess that was one step too far, right? I will admit that I did find it amusing he was taking the time to untypo a word that was wrong in the first place, which is what prompted me to tell him he didn't need to bother fixing it in the way I did, and, in hindsight, it does seem a little more snarky than I had intended it to be when writing it - my apologies for that also if it made you feel like the internet is less fun. From one midwit to another, I hope you'll forgive my transgressions :)

Oh... and while I'm here, I actually lived in Japan for a while, and while I may not know the language back to front, I know enough to write what I did without consulting Google. Hopefully it improves your view of the internet a little by knowing that people can still be snarky without having to resort to instaknowledge :)
07/05/2021 20:11 — Anonymous
All the noise you lot made in the comments here promted me to check out this anime - and good show it is too!

It looks to me like the guy referring to the midwits was using this thread to bemoan the quality of the internet in the past to what we have now, I wouldn't worry about it or take it personally mate. Recently it's seemed that everyone is even more on edge than usual (what with the lockdowns and all), so it's quite refreshing to read your explanation / apology. I guess sometimes we all need to count to ten and ask ourselves if our post might come accross as a bit snidey before hitting the post button.
08/05/2021 02:49 — Anonymous
Thanks, mate. Yeah, you're right, this has been a tough stretch for most of us. You're also right about posting more mindfully. While I did intend my post about the typo to have a playful tone, I definitely didn't intend it to be insulting. My sincere apologies to the OP if I make him feel like I was trying to insult him with it.
