About 7 hours after v0
08/10/2020 22:49 — Anonymous
Damn this is a really stupid way for [Erai-raws] to do things.
08/10/2020 23:43 — Anonymous
Start your own site if you don't like how they do it.
Or you can just wait for the 2nd release of it.
09/10/2020 02:09 — Anonymous
or just wait for the DVD or Blu Ray versions to come out.
09/10/2020 00:22 — Anonymous
Yeah. Just get [SubsPlease].
09/10/2020 02:56 — Anonymous
No thanks. I can get Eria-raws first release and grab the updated subs later.
09/10/2020 11:06 — Anonymous
Too bad Erai's updated subs still have missing dialogue and broken subs.

SubsPlease gets it done right with only one go... not 3+.
09/10/2020 13:33 — Anonymous
3,500 downloads and no such report on Nyaa.
09/10/2020 14:07 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
the numbers mean nothing. missing dialogue would be impossible to spot if what you read is coherent despite missing lines. until you are downloading multiple releases and comparing you won't know. or someone aware of what it officially reads points it out.
09/10/2020 14:31 — Anonymous
The numbers mean everything.  Please specify the timestamps and content of the errors you are claiming.  Or are you just some fraud?
10/10/2020 03:07 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
i didn't claim anything. don't assume stuff. so i did a comparison just now, Erai left and SubsPlease right, for this episode. see for yourself https://www.diffchecker.com/6RiDmgar
10/10/2020 03:20 — Anonymous
Thanks.  Now that you've wasted your time, I'll explain what the numbers mean: Almost 5,000 people have downloaded this file and any "errors" are either so trivial that they didn't notice them or did not think it worth mentioning.  That's all there is to it.
10/10/2020 03:26 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
yeah right so it's trivial errors now. the lengths that people will go. what a ripper is supposed to do is ensure they rip it properly. fact of the matter is a failed rip is a failed rip. i'm done here.
10/10/2020 03:36 — Anonymous
It was always going to be about trivia.
10/10/2020 03:34 — Someone
What errors from Erai are in this comparison? Looks fine to me besides too many spaces around honorific suffixes.
10/10/2020 03:56 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
look closely at all the coloured text.
10/10/2020 04:17 — Someone
I did and didn't find anything. Which is why I ask.
10/10/2020 04:24 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
and i thought i had simplified it enough. here are two missing lines:
"June 16, 1983"
--There, there...
10/10/2020 04:31 *Someone
Thanks. It is true the 16, 1983 is missing from Erai's version. Actually if you look at the scene in the anime, the "16" should be "17" and both that number and "1983" is on the calendar anyway. No need to translate numbers.
However, --There, there... is not needed because in Erai's version, "There, there..." will appear in top position of screen with the {\an8} and stays on screen until the "My brilliant plan will make\Nescaping your clutches a piece of cake!" disappears. No need to repeat it in both lines.
10/10/2020 04:52 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
i'll take your word for that. i'm not watching this anime because i heard it's a sequel and i would like to watch the prequels before diving into this. i hate spoilers of any kind. i had a hunch along similar lines thus why i didn't mention later dates.
10/10/2020 06:17 — alpeia2
Sorry to say, this is NOT a sequel. This is a remake of "When They Cry" released in 2006. So go ahead and watch it, although I kind of prefer the 2006 version over this one so far.
10/10/2020 06:54 — Someone
It apparently is a sequel as a scene in ep 2 is a spoiler to the end of Kai. Check mal forum for more info.
10/10/2020 07:24 — Anonymous
> here are two missing lines:
>"June 16, 1983"
>--There, there...

Everything's there, you blind idiot.
10/10/2020 03:42 — Anonymous
Interesting comparison check. Erai seems to a much better job than SubsPlease, at least for my tastes. Unnecessary double dashes have been pared down to single dashes and overlapping dialogue is split between the top and bottom in the Erai version. All bonuses in my book. The only thing I noticed being omitted in the Erai text was the full title of the series but that's a pretty trivial omission if you consider people probably already know the title of what they're watching. I say points in Erai's favour.
10/10/2020 03:58 — sameer
( -‿-)-🍥🍣
unnecessary! they are there for a reason.
10/10/2020 04:18 — Someone
It becomes unnecessary in Erai's version because the lines get split.
10/10/2020 15:05 — Anonymous
Yeah, totally unnecessary. Please waste more time explaining to me why "--" needs to be there instead of "-". I'm sure you have a lot to say on the matter.
09/10/2020 14:37 — Anonymous
I find it funny that "those in the know" didn't report it on Erai's thread on Nyaa. It looks like a couple of people just shilling the [SubsPlease] tag and they haven't even been around long enough to have any track record.
I'll stay with Erai since I have been using them or a few years now.
Maybe some of us should go crap in [SubsPlease] threads.
09/10/2020 14:42 — Anonymous
https://www.erai-raws.info/news/funima...subtitles/

I find it funny how dumb erai fanboys can be that they can't even read erais own admittance to the issues.
09/10/2020 14:39 — Anonymous
there were reports. even erai acknowledged them and redid the shows.

try not to be a blind fanboy.
09/10/2020 14:43 — Anonymous
This was not one of those shows.

"First of everything, the team apologies for the corrupted subtitles that has been released for these anime:
Ikebukuro West Gate Park – 01
Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen – 01
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear – 01
Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai – 01
Strike Witches – Road to Berlin – 01
A new version will be released today or tomorrow for all episodes.
The bot was causing the problem and it has been fixed. All the future releases should be fine starting with next anime."
09/10/2020 14:46 — Anonymous
and yet every show gets v0/v1/v2/v3 because they can't get it right with one version.
09/10/2020 14:48 — Anonymous
everyone now knows v0 is unedited Horrible-type and no "v" means done.  There are no v1 or v2 anymore.
09/10/2020 14:57 — anonymous1234
v0 & v1 or v1 & v2... same thing. Still multiple versions.

and this half-TS-half-not is what they call "done"?
https://i.imgur.com/pgbUUM2.jpg

Might as well stick to the v0 and let actual TSers do the TSing.
09/10/2020 13:35 — Anonymous
There is nothing special about SubsPlease. They use the same subs as Erai and maybe change the font. They get it out fast so they don't have time to really look the subs over. They will just be a flash in the pan and I doubt they will last a year before they get bored or distracted by some other shiny object.
09/10/2020 14:40 — Anonymous
lol whatever you say erai fanboy.
09/10/2020 12:37 — Anonymous
Did they lose anyone to covid like horriblesubs ?    They used to be so much better than they are now.
09/10/2020 13:21 — Anonymous
according to their site, they are a 2 person operation.
09/10/2020 14:44 — Anonymous
09/10/2020 14:47 — Anonymous
This isn't v2
09/10/2020 14:48 — Anonymous
someone can't read.
09/10/2020 15:10 — Anonymous
lulz, at all the SubsPlease fanboys in here. Get back to me after your group has been around for a year or 2 without any errors in its history.
09/10/2020 15:19 — anonymous1234
tough talk from an erai fanboy considering how it took erai several years to ever learn how to mux in the fonts for the subs.
09/10/2020 15:48 — Anonymous
What tough talk? You SubsPlease fanboys are acting like they are the second coming of Jesus, sad.
Just like when a top rated site goes down the rabid ones jump in hoping to be the new top dog.
09/10/2020 16:06 — Anonymous
That's a feeble rant.

I wonder if there's something we could all get hostile at:

-ants?
-pigeon poop?
-Fred Flintstone?
09/10/2020 16:11 — Anonymous
That wasn't a rant, but I guess the truth hurts considering your reply.
09/10/2020 16:12 — Anonymous
"rabid" not a rant, huh?
09/10/2020 16:18 — Anonymous
When SubsPlease fanboys come into an Erai thread and start knocking Erai while pushing their "team" I'd say they are acting like rabid dogs.
Just because you call it a rant doesn't make it one.
09/10/2020 16:21 — anonymous1234
Since when is knocking something for legitimate problems "acting rabid"? It's cool that Erai wants to improve and they claim to have fixed the errors cited, but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
09/10/2020 16:23 — Anonymous
You saying it isn't a rant doesn't mean much either.

Everything has been said already.  I don't think there's anything more to be gained on this page.
09/10/2020 15:20 — Anonymous
We are better off with as many sources as possible.  Without Horrible, there's no reason to believe any of them will be around for long.  The more the merrier.
09/10/2020 15:24 — anonymous1234
I fully agree. I'm glad to see options and backups. However that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to get these groups to improve in their shortcomings.
09/10/2020 15:34 — Anonymous
No evidence they visit AT.  Nyaa and their website would be the places to offer help.
09/10/2020 15:42 — anonymous1234
Which is exactly why I'm in their Discord and offering suggestions. Erai seems to be willing to listen, which is a plus. After years of not adding fonts, they're now doing it since people made a fuss about it. Win-Win for viewers.
10/10/2020 06:22 — AnonymousFtV
the more pressing question is why they switched the name-order to a western fashion. they left the honorifics, so why not be consistent?
it's pretty distracting to hear one thing but read another. and both SubsPlease and Erai-raws are doing it...
10/10/2020 06:53 — Someone
Did the group switch it or was it that way from the start when subbed by funimation?
10/10/2020 07:17 — AnonymousFtV
don't realy matter as they could've addressed it, no?
10/10/2020 07:31 *Someone
They could, but SubsPlease appears to be rip-only group and Erai-raws adds a bit of spilt-lines and minor typeset only (for now at least). So probably they didn't switch the name order, just left it the way it was. You can provide your feedback on their website though. Maybe they'll consider it.
10/10/2020 09:33 — Anonymous
And so could you, no?
10/10/2020 09:51 *Someone

Horriblesubs calling it a day was a fucking shock. Anyone dissing any subgroup right now should be treated with outright contempt.

Ganbarae subber-sans!
10/10/2020 10:39 — Anonymous
Why the hell are you Goys watching this rubbish? How the hell are we supposed to push propaganda on you lot if you won't watch Netlix? Hollywood is dying because of you fuckers!
10/10/2020 11:12 — Anonymous
Why are you here then?
10/10/2020 10:51 — Anonymous
Fansubber-sans Fight-O Fight-O Fight-O!

10/10/2020 11:25 — Anonymous
What is the difference between "dissing" and "comparing" any subgroup? Picking out problems and faults is something that is helpful for someone who is going to be doing this sort of thing. Translating into different languages one should know how to do it without spelling errors and also being able to use correct phrases. If a subgroup is going to have up to 3 versions of 1 episode I would rather wait for a DVD or Blu ray version and not waste my time like they are.
10/10/2020 15:58 — Anonymous
Not who your replying to, and no replying to you personally here, just using your comment as inspiration to add my own tuppenceworth

In my opinion it would be the difference between some asshole just shootingtheir mouth off, compared to decent anime tomodatchis making suggestions, reporting errors, helpful criticism etc. Also, the phrase 'In my opinion' goes a long way, as it makes it obvious your not trying to be empirical about things.

I personally hate to see things that look like nitpicking, if someone has gone to the bother of being part of the chain of events that leads to an anime I like being right there on my screen, then I'm not inclined to moan about something pissy like a spelling error or whatever. Although I can see that done in the correct manner, e.g. a note left on the subbers page, might be helpful.

Also, having engaged in some correspondance with subbers before, they do seem very open to suggestions and whatnot.

Just don't be an ass about it.
10/10/2020 16:25 — Anonymous
A lot of other subbers don't have pages to be contacted through except for twitter and Facebook. Those who do are constantly trolled and have a hard time weeding through the criticism of their work in order to help improve. I give a lot of credit towards what they are doing but sometimes quality is better than speed. I can wait a day or two after release to watch an episode instead of throwing something together just to get there first.
10/10/2020 17:38 — Anonymous
Subbers sometimes do an immediate release of the ripped sub, then do a tweaked version a day or two later. These things are all personal though, everyone has there own preferences, its impossible for any sub group to cater to everyone. In my case its depends on which show it is, for most shows I'm following I can wait, but for my favourite shows I'll be refreshing the front page here, and will watch the first version that comes in.

I know what you mean about the trolling, I think its getting better than it was though, there is still a few retards about, mainly halfwits from /a/ who got into anime cause their friends recommended it, they don't really 'get it' and watch anime mainly for the echhi or the loli. They're very vocal, and its a pain in the ass because there are a lot of cool people who don't really bother with the chats and so on. But yeah, its getting a bit better than it used to be I think. Thank the Kami that most fansubbers have thick skins!
