I remain perpetually perplexed by the lack of awareness and stupidity of the general population.

The title of the movie is "Shin Evangelion [...]", which translates to New Evangelion. The japanese spelling of "Evangelion" changed as well, which is why I changed it to be capitalized with the designation of "Final Barline". Making this the EVANGELION FINAL.

Could you link a source for that information? I checked the latest MPV manual for 0.35.1-4 where the options are present and even encouraged as:

"A slightly sharpened version of ewa_lanczos, preconfigured to use an ideal radius and parameter. If your hardware can run it, this is probably what you should use by default."

I don't think there will be a need to redo this movie. So if nothing changes, for a long time; however, I rely heavily on the peers to seed or the torrents will eventually die.

As I can't keep filling the demand for an increasing number of torrents forever, I may have to eventually stop seeding old releases in favour of new ones. So to answer in more real terms. Maybe for 6 months or so, or longer if the rest of my releases torrent health are good.

Most people don't have multi-channel audio setups. So the original stereo mix will sound better. I do keep the original TrueHD/DTS multi-channel audio seperately for personal use. But including it would balloon up the releases incessantly for no good reason at all, and make seeding even more difficult than it already is on public trackers.

I'd argue that most peope DO have multi-channel. Been having it for years. It's just normal, especialy for "home-theaters". And since the new codec reduces the size of the files so much, there would be no " incessant ballooning", compared to HEVC, or even x264...
Can you upload the audio-tracks from your releases separately at least, for ppl that want them?

I for one cant really say for sure who uses more. It depends on where you watch it (pc,phone,plane tv, home theater) and where you live maybe (if you can afford it and have the space too). If I combine it all together I'd guess more are using 2.0/1 setups. Still I think multi-channel setups are not to underrate. Especially with opus the sizes are imo ignoreable. Then again on a decent audio setup even on opus you want more than 153 kb/s. And with BD rips EAC3 5.1 320/640 is mostly the default non-remux releases. For web encodes this might 2c might be enough but I agree on that BS rips should have some decent quality too. And that is only generally speaking - I forgot this is a AV1 release. People wanting that are likely to have quality hw too.

Btw. forgot - new codecs? We talk about audio and there those aren't that new (TrueHD 2011, Opus 2012). I didnt rly get why you mention video codecs, that got nothing to do with audio at all. ^^ And I think the size is ok for 2,5h AV1. Opus is quite ok for quality/size.

He was talking about "ballooning" the file-size. But since AV1 is so ridiculously small, having ~1GB more for an extra audio-track would be negligible...

Ah ok, that even depends on the source&encode. On another file i checked equal length with eac3 5.1 640kbit it took 640MB. F.e. 220k opus should be even less ~500 meaning adding only 320Mb more.

Here is the multichannel audio encoded in OPUS@320kbps for this release. I've been complacent about making a decision on the multichannel options for my own library -just saving the original unedited proprietary format tracks.

I'll sleep on this and think about including an OPUS/320kbps version for the multichannel tracks in releases for the future. I'll probably just go with that and stop caring about the original format altogether. As for "ballooning", the TrueHD track for EVA1 is literally 180% the size of my EVA1 release. If I ditch the original format, I'll be able to include the tracks in the future (will probably happen). But I have to check a few technical requirements for including this change into my processing scripts, and verify the possible downsides of OPUS multichannel, if any.

You're not dumb. I neglected to choose to correct track to share. This is the original unedited UHD-source. Add this delay: "-11500". And it will fit. Or you can alternatively cut the corresponding delay off entirely.

I already uploaded the other audios under their respective tosho-page as additional download links. I sure hope they're not the raws... Otherwise you'd have to apply a delay as well. My bad.

It's part of the "fun". Evangelion stuff is always a magnet for the most weird conversations. My earlier Neon Genesis Evangelion torrent has people talking about striking eachothers' mud-huts and arguing about the other party being unable to install the batteries to their rocket properly. So... yes.
