Embedupload, Jheberg, Multiupload, etc. are distribution services.  Nothing that you download comes off any hard drive they own, and the distributions they make to download services occur prior to and regardless of any user download requests.  Visit their web sites and you can see the progress of their file distribution to the subscriber download sites.

So if you think these download services or the distribution centers are making money from our use of them, then the more we use them the better.  If they are not actually making money from our use (which is what I think) then the more we use them the quicker they go bankrupt, or dump us.  So is this a resource we are growing or a resource we are using up?  If using up, we should be careful.  If growing, why have any torrent limits at all?

There are two commonly discussed revenue streams in DL services: 1) Premium memberships (not gonna happen); 2) Advertising revenue.  If some of you are watching ads of some sort --good, maybe that helps.  I skip all that.

Still, I can't see any  business model that works from premium and ads.

I have some theories about other revenue streams keeping DL and distribution services alive:
1) That we just provide enough cover and noise for the porn industry, where the real money is
2) It's worth it to the NSA to keep cloud computing alive, for now (just joking, ...I hope)
