Another person: Ep1 locks up at the end of the OP with MPC-HC, recently updated, a player specifically recommended on this Nyaa page.  

I expect the same problem with other eps.

Try MPV then, it's also a recommendation. Mpc despite being a recommendation it's performance is still inferior to mpv in both video and subtitle rendering.

I also use mpc/k-lite, and tried one of the episodes, audio worked fine. My hardware (gtx 1050ti, 3200g, windows 11)
