Because it's 12bit. I think VLC 3.x will play them but I don't care for the 3.x series.
12bit is a waste at this point of time so I'd get a different copy and avoid Roger's 12bit files.

Or just avoid 12bit encodes. 12bit is overkill coming from an 8bit source.
