Why not torrent it yourself?  I haven't seen any news stories about torrent users being targeted in a long time.  Maybe the dmca enforcement people are working on other things instead, like quick file ddl takedowns which in some cases now are real quick) and killing off the ddl-services and sites.

What do torrent users think?

not the guy, but my ISP seems to throttle torrent protocol. And free VPN also throttle P2P protocol.
So DDL and XDCC are the only options for me.

As for ISPs, I wonder what's in it for them to hinder torrents?  My ISP went the cellphone route -unlimited data but throttled if you use more than they like.

Free VPN probably has a paid plan so that's easy to figure out.

(My old ISP was part of a company that also makes anime.  I didn't know what to expect.)

Some ISPs consider P2P to be 'bandwidth heavy', so throttle them to lessen the impact on other users (or discourage the use of P2P).
It's typically not as significant these days, compared to a few years ago, as streaming video tends to dominate bandwidth usage nowadays.
