Can't play it at all video and audio doesn't show empty. As soon as you open it ends nothing plays is there a specific codec missing or something or is it a player I use MPC? never had a problem before must be a missing codec that needs installing

Try another video player like VLC or mpv. If it works in those, then it's an mpc problem. If it doesn't, then your download or the release has a problem.

If it's mpc-hc you can probably keep it up to date with k-lite. Since mpc-hc is considered a completed project, the mpc-hc website may not be keeping up with current libraries anymore.

Most similar live project is potplayer.
