Just a note to people who like everything perfect, this file is the incorrect aspect ratio. It should be 1280X692 a difference of 28 vertical pixels. If you don't care then go for it!!!

So a standard 720p resolution stretches it out a bit...Is that info on the difference in the file header somewhere, your player, or based on a database of DB release stats, or?  I don't see distortion in these preview pictures, although it would be small.

Make that "BD" release stats...

No, it's the fact that the full HD (1080p) size used by animenow is 1920X1036 (this animation was recoreded to 35mm film that's why it's not 1920X1080), so maintaining the correct apect ratio it should be 1280X692 NOT 1280X720. And yes you may not notice since it's just a little stretched by 28 pixels, that's why I started with "people who like everything perfect". An average viewer would not notice this difference.

1280X692 is the resolution(when properly cropped). It is not the aspect ratio. The reason it is stretched is because AnimeNOW has set the AR to 16:9 [widescreen] instead of the proper aspect ratio 1.85:1.Try to learn a bit about encoding before trying to sound knowledgeable please alpeia2. :)

I just watched a half hour of this version and I have no complaints.  The video was fine, the subs and audio were fine.  It looked great on the big screen.

A general comment on Kiki: This like most other BD versions comes with Dual Audio.  It defaults to Japanese audio and English subtitles, which is what I would recommend.  With Kiki, Spirited Away, and similar titles I would say there is an English version, rather than an English translation.  What is said in the English version often has nothing to do with the original Japanese script either in word or thought.  It expresses different sentiments and sometimes different conclusions.  I don't know that I can say either the English or the Japanese versions are better, but only that they are different.  Bear that in mind.  Maybe watch the alternate version the second time.
