I use potplayer as my primary player. If there were any additional offers on the install (long ago, don't recall) I would have declined them and nothing happened since. As a player, it's a nice step up from MPC-HC.

That's why I never recommend mpv. People who ask for help need a player suited to their needs, so I recommend K-Lite. MPV candidates don't need to ask for help.

I don't experience those issues with VLC.
The only issues I've had are path link too long or someone's great idea of 100mb+ subs. Both easy to fix.
