Grabbed this  a couple years ago. needed to get the attachments zip again.  Its an excellent version I've watched this several times already. The best feature, it's encoded to the world's standard guidelines as in 8bit AVC.
It's anyone's guess how long it will take the 10bit fanatics to figure out they have been used by Anime importers (Funi,CR etc..) to control Anime sharing by restricting the what can play files.
Take an 8bit file bump the frame rate to at least 41 fps. then play it against the same 10bit file.  And even when no difference between the two files can be seen. They still wont believe it's the truth.

"Take an 8bit file bump the frame rate to at least 41 fps. then play it against the same 10bit file."

Why the hell would I want to bump the frame rate to at least 41 fps?
It wasn't made at that frame-rate and anything "bumped up" to that has fake frames......
And you bitch about 10bit.....  Get a better toaster.

Hilarious, So you really think 10bit is full of fake frames? Just how do you think a 10bit picture is accomplished? I think the bigger issue is funi/cr has been using Anime fans to limit sharing. I think they accomplished their goal.   Its probably the reason that most of the Anime created before 2010 isnt even shared today. Archives that shared most of it were taken down after repeatedly finding encodes from them converted to 10bit reposted by different name.  That was taboo for the long time

I didn't read where the anon above you said 10bit is full of fake frames.
Funi/CR don't "limit" sharing since I don't see their names on DMCA complaints.
Encoders use 10bit because there are less math errors in the color depth and it helps reduce banding that is present in the 8 bit source.
10bit has nothing to do with frame-rate just the color depth.
If you want 8bit just stick to groups like [DeadFish] etc and quit complaining about groups that do it better.

>restricting the what can play files.
Intel HD is the most popular graphics chip on the planet, and it's been able to decode 10-bit AVC (and 10-bit HEVC and VP9) in hardware since 2016.
In mobile, Apple's kit has been fast enough for software decoding since the (now security-updates-only) iPhone 6.
You can get an Intel Atom with Kaby's GPU, if you want a HTPC with multiple simultaneous hi10p streams and no fan.

Its still limited to software based players. Intel HD is part of a processor and works on what a motherboard. Microsoft jumped at the chance to play 10bit to increase sales of Win10 because the OS is a great big pile of shit. Microsoft has gone to many lengths to get it's OS onto computers. They even paid intel to load the OS onto Processor chips. When you boot up a PC with a Win10 loads onto the hard drive without asking or requiring for permission. I know this because I have one of those processors.
Software media players cant be mounted in cars, or part of entertainment systeme without a pc component.  The industry wil never make hardware to play 10bit files because the media world will never approve of 2 standards or change the one they have. Consider how much money it would take for the entire world change  The cost would be incalculable

BS, 10bit is the future and hardware is catching up, fast.
A lot faster than hardware will catch up to AV1.
Just like those that said HEVC would never catch up on the hardware side they were wrong.
You sitting here saying 10bit won't happen doesn't make it so.

Again with this stupid 8 bit bullshit?!? Give it a rest.

No one gives a fuck but seemingly you. I feel differently as well as others but I dont go all over the net and tell others that if they dont like bluray quality they are dumb asses.  If I did that I would be a total moron which is what you are because you keep harping the same shit. The only thing you are accomplishing is showing you are a jackass.

Grow up.

I think the point was if you know how to encode you wouldn't need 10bit to get the same quality as BluRay.  If you think 10bit will ever replace 8bit in the media world. You got more than a screw loose.  It will never ever happen!  Anyone that knows the business knows this.  Back when 10bit starting showing up. If had looked at posting and traffic logs on several torrent sites. They would have shown something wasn't adding up. It files were posting non stop and it was only on Anime. A.I was used to bloat its popularity.
Everyone has the right to an opinion. It's the first amendment. Instead of being an oppressor.  Prove that post wrong with facts. The your words wont sound like your just bitching

Sorry, 10bit HEVC 4k blurays are already coming out on discs.
10bit is the future with the better big screens that here and are coming out.
In the coming years you will see less 8bit discs coming out.

Ive got a 85" Sony top of the line. But there not TV's There PC monitors running Android OS. loaded up with TV software. The chips that held the info have become software.
Is this that hard to understand. It's all software.

Keep trying your best grandpa but no 8bit for you.

TVs even with microprocessors built in are considered to be hardware.
A PC motherboard is considered to be hardware and it has software on-board to make it work.
The hardware and even screens continue to advance toward 10bit and your whining won't change that.

No no no... I'm not getting involved in the 10bit pissing contest, but there is a very big difference between hardware and software decoding.

Hardware decoding is done "on-chip", as in there's separate hardware specifically dedicated handling the decoding process which is streamlined and optimised to carry out that task and no other. Software decoding is done via the CPU and software. Hardware decoding is far superior when it comes to performance.

The reason that software decoding is being mistaken for hardware decoding nowadays is because the manufacturers are cost-cutting by dropping the on-chip solution - which requires a license in most cases - and offloading the process to ever more powerful CPUs via the TV OS... and then claiming it's a "hardware solution" because it's using hardware.

I knew plenty of other fans out there know this stuff.  But to put it so eloquently, you far the better at this I am.

This is a fact. 10 bit offers a truer and better color definition because of the huge increase in colors available and that's what people want. Why would anyone not embrace 10 bit? 8 bit is fast becoming the old 8 bit and 16 bit gaming systems, fun to play but the graphics lack.

you wouldn't need 10bit to get the same quality as BluRay
That's not the point of 10-bit colour in re-encodes. Better efficiency from higher precision calculations is.

However, on the topic of BluRay, HDR is a key driver behind 10-bit colour there.
