Merkur Era, calendar year 48,234 to 48,426: the random musings of the gynoid duchess Drossel von Flügel and her massive cyclopian arachnoid servant teacher Gedächtnis yield whimsical insights. Located in an expansive mansion, Gedächtnis tries to impart valuable information to his energetic pupil Drossel, by quoting from ancient books he produces at random. These books were written by Drossel's late father.

But since robot-kind still holds a complicated relationship with mankind outside this mansion, leaving it is not permitted. Furthermore all means of transportation to the outside have been suspended since five millennia prior.
