A fierce snowstorm hits Tokyo when Usagi and her friends enjoy winter vacation. It is the doing of an old enemy, once repelled by the power of the legendary Silver Crystal of Love and Friendship, who returns to retake Earth and add it to her collection of frozen planets. Crucial to Snow Queen Kaguya's — as she was called by genius astronomer Kakeru Oozora — plan is a magical crystal from outer space approaching Earth disguised as a comet. Once Snow Queen Kaguya gets hold of the crystal, she will have the power to freeze all life and cover the Earth in ice.
