ÛÛ²                     field of noise and grain retention lately and feel
ÛÛ²                     a little struck. What with all my "zOMg, dat file
ÛÛ²                     has moar grain than a well balanced diet"-ness.
ÛÛ²                     Now, I can only speak for myself and these are solely
ÛÛ²                     my own standpoints. But first of all. Regarding all
ÛÛ²                     the artificial noise added in post by the producers
ÛÛ²                     of the animu, (This one would be a good example) it is
ÛÛ²                     there for a reason, the producers' own personal
ÛÛ²                     reason. And who knows better than them how the film
ÛÛ²                     should look? The second point I'd like to bring up is
ÛÛ²                     the old analogue film grain. I've seen arguments that
ÛÛ²                     cels are super-crisp and have zero grain. Of course
ÛÛ²                     this is true, but the cels are not the medium of the
ÛÛ²                     films, film is, and film is far from error free. I
ÛÛ²                     can see why you would like to remove old analogue
ÛÛ²                     grain, because unlike artificial grain it's an actual
ÛÛ²                     error of the medium. Still, I don't like removing
ÛÛ²                     features which are present in the original master.
ÛÛ²                     (and no, cels are not masters, hence they are
ÛÛ²                     discarded after production.) And remember, if the
ÛÛ²                     production team thought grain to be a big problem
ÛÛ²                     they could have used an extremely fine-grain film.
ÛÛ²                     Mind you, I'm not a total opponent to the removal of
ÛÛ²                     ye ol' grain, it's just that I've seen way to few
ÛÛ²                     good results (fuck yeah, Disney) and way to many
ÛÛ²                     abominations (Funimation) to think it's a good idea
ÛÛ²                     at the moment and I'd rather have an untouched
ÛÛ²                     grain-ridden picture and remove the grain myself
ÛÛ²                     than to get a steaming pile of DFNR'd horse manure.
ÛÛ²                     Thirdly, the whole file size issue linked with noise.
ÛÛ²                     Who the fuck cares anymore? 10GB is like an hour on
ÛÛ²                     DSL and disc-burning died a long time ago. Really,
ÛÛ²                     even if you can get "the same" quality with a smaller
ÛÛ²                     size, if you actually care about the size in the first
ÛÛ²                     place you might as well just watch it on the Jewtube.
ÛÛ²                     This was horribly formulated so; tl;dr: Keep the
ÛÛ²                     fucking noise/grain because it's easier to remove it
ÛÛ²                     in post if you so wish than to restore an encode
ÛÛ²                     destroyed by denoisers.

ÛÛ²                     intact, but some signs changed since I didn't like
ÛÛ²                     them (You probably need an i7 or better for them to
ÛÛ²                     work, though). The third subtrack is an unaltered
ÛÛ²                     Nanashi script.
